Racing Information
RHYC has a busy programme of racing events, including many Open Events. Popular classes at the club are Lasers, Solo, Phantom, Optimists, Toppers, Teras, Feva & National 12’s Ajax keel boats, as well as the handicap class for other dinghies.
We have regular dinghy racing on Sundays and on Wednesday evenings during the season, together with a Winter Series and a variety of special races and regattas, including the Smuggler’s Trophy, Junior Race Week,, the All-In Race, the Sunk Race, the Boxing Day Race and the August Regatta. We now have the very popular Catch me if you can – pursuit race for yachts. Our Ajax fleet is as popular as ever and has well attended events from Spring through to Autumn both nationally and local.
The Club organises numerous Open Events mainly on Saturdays and hosts the prestigious RORC North Sea Race. We place a huge emphasis on Junior Sailing, and our Junior Race Week is renowned, attracting participants from far and wide.
In addition to information and reports from the various sailing sections, this section also includes Racing Results and other useful Racing Information. Overall responsibility for organising racing at the club lies with our current Rear Commodore, Stephanie Hensley. Race training & coaching for most classes is available through the club.
