Art Group

The RHYC Art Group was founded, in 2009, by the late Sue Rolls, Graduate in Fine Art and Design.

The Workshops.

We meet once a month, in the Wreck Room, on Saturdays, during the winter months. Tutors will be present, at some sessions, to help us individually develop our own artistic skills. Members can work in any medium and provide their own materials which maybe oils, acrylic, water colour, pen and ink, pencils, pastels and collage etc. We enjoy a group lunch in the clubhouse when we are often joined by family members.  In the summer we had several sessions “en plein air”.

The Exhibition.

We have an annual exhibition of about fifty of our latest works. This usually takes place in early May in conjunction with the Cruising Association Rally. 4-6 May 2024

We are all amateurs who have found that the stimulation of working together has helped us develop our own artistic skills. There is a long tradition of sailor artists, why not become part of it. We welcome all newcomers whatever their level of skill-including beginners.
