Job Vacancy

Waterside Co-ordinator

RHYC is a lively, friendly, supportive and inclusive Club, and the postholder will be made to feel part of the small but critically important team of professionals who run the Club, working with the Flag Officers and numerous volunteers.

Role: The Waterside & Development Co-ordinator will be an experienced RYA Senior/Chief Instructor who wishes to progress to the next level with additional responsibilities within a busy club environment. The role is a combination of day-to-day teaching, organising the staffing of our training calendar and co-ordination of berthing services (marina and moorings), with an emphasis on review, change and setting out strategic direction for the coming few years across the areas of responsibility for all waterside activity.

Development will be a key element – developing the membership offer waterside to attract new members.

It is anticipated that the contract will be on a flexible annualised basis, with the aim to work the equivalent of 5 days per week March – October & 3 days per week November to February. This is therefore not a full-time role across the 4 winter months, so would suit someone with other winter opportunities.

Weekly working pattern: Club demand would suggest that a Wednesday-Sunday working week, with one weekend off per month would be the required working pattern, to be negotiated.

Reporting to: The Waterside & Development Co-ordinator will report to the Club Manager. The postholder will be working with a range of volunteers, in addition to the other paid roles at the club and will need to balance the conflicting pressures from Members, Officers, Staff and Volunteers.
