We are a successful busy sailing club and marina with a strong membership with a statement club house on the banks of the River Orwell. We need to further grow our membership activities and market our services with a focus on growing our external private event hire, and RYA training programme participation.
Initial 3-month contract – 2-days per week – Flexible Working hours

Full job description – Sales & Marketing Co-ordinator
We are seeking a person with experience in Sales and Marketing to join our small team at the RHYC, to help us build a stronger marketing and media presence to new external clients.
The ideal candidate will work closely with the Club Manager and Reeves Events Ltd plus various stakeholders to deliver a new annual marketing calendar, including email campaigns, paid media campaigns, development of our social media channels, and ensuring our marketing processes are brought up to date.
You will also build relationships with the larger businesses in the Ipswich area and market the Club’s high quality and flexible event spaces. You will help grow our affiliate and private membership categories, through networking and targeted media campaigns.
Primary Tasks – Private hire of club to businesses
- Create target list of local companies, collect contact details and gauge interest.
- Develop marketing content for website, brochures, social media etc.
- Arrange open events in conjunction with our in-house catering partners Reeves Events Ltd including facility tours, food samples etc.
- Co-ordinate bookings with the club office team and Reeves Events Ltd.
- Develop a fuller program of social media posts/reels etc.
Secondly Tasks – RYA Training and general marketing for memberships
- Creation of centralised media store for video and images.
- Identify new target audiences in conjunction with Training principal such as the Duke of Edinburgh scheme and local schools.
- Contacting organisations re: RYA Training options.
- Social media posts/reels of content.
- Using RHYC’s Adobe express cloud database to develop media materials for general office & events use.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Building new local business relationships and presenting our private room hire flexible packages for day delegates
- Executing marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including paid social, email, and digital advertising.
- Assisting in the tactical planning, organisation, and delivery of an improved social media strategy, with training given to current office team.
- Designing and optimising new email campaigns to external clients in Klaviyo.
- Work with Reeves to build an events ‘menu’ of pricing for weddings and other private hires.
- Design and adapt marketing materials with Adobe and use as part of planned campaigns
- Monitoring and reporting on the performance of social media posts and email campaigns.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Demonstrable experience in managing and executing paid social campaigns, and use of social media to gain a much wider audience
- Track record of networking and sales to gain new clients
- Experience in supporting event management & knowledge of hospitality may be useful
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills
- A basic understanding of sailing and RYA pathways may be useful
You’ll be working in Woolverstone near Ipswich at the Royal Harwich Yacht Club.
