Wedding Receptions

With panoramic views over the River Orwell, the Royal Harwich Yacht Club provides a stunning backdrop for your wedding reception. Inside, we offer a modern, spacious and flexible space which can be booked in its entirety for your exclusive use.

The Royal Harwich Yacht Club offers

• Three function rooms which can either be hired individually, in any combination, or as a whole. All rooms have floor to ceiling glass windows with extensive views over the River Orwell.

• The Club is delighted to host wedding celebrations led by an independent celebrant. These ceremonies are fully personalised but are not legally binding; couples arrange the legal marriage separately with the local registrar.

• A beautifully maintained lawn overlooking the marina and river, with informal seating – ideal for summer events or as break out areas for your guests. Marquees can be erected on this space if extra capacity is required.
• A full range of quality dining options by arrangement from 8am to 11pm, in conjunction with our professional catering partner, Reeves Events. Menus can be tailored to suit your requirements, locally sourced foods are used.
• A fully licensed bar is available with a substantial wine list and locally brewed beers. Late bar opening until 12.30am.
• Personalised, quality service from our highly experience catering team.

• Spacious, modern bathroom facilities with showers and WC
• Free Wi-Fi Speakers and sound systems
• Media rental (TV or projector)
• Live music and discos can be arranged

The Venue

The whole venue is available for hire for your exclusive use, or any of the three rooms can be hired separately, according to your needs.

Recommended maximum numbers of guests for each of the rooms:

• Main Club Room: Up to 90 guests dining, 100 standing
• Ashbury Room: Up to 50 guests dining, 65 standing
• Lawn summer event: Approx. 200 guests

Venue hire price ranges from £1,500 to £3,500 depending on the rooms / space required and date.

Catering

We have a selection of menus you can choose from, or we can create something bespoke for you. Dietary requirements can be catered for. Example prices based on a minimum of 60 guests:

Example Dining Package: £66.00 pp incl. VAT

• 3 choice canape selection for your drink’s reception
• 3 course wedding breakfast
• Tea and coffee to finish

Example Wine Package: £22.50 pp incl. VAT

• 1 glass of fizz per person (or soft drink alternative) for the drinks reception
• Half a bottle of wine per head for the meal
• Glass of fizz for the toast

We over a very competitively priced wine list but couples may choose to supply their own wines for table service and speeches, in which case a corkage charge applies. This reflects the care and expertise involved in storage, chilling, glassware, staffing and responsible service, and ensures the smooth running and traditional flow of the day. Our bar remains available for the reception, offering a full range of drinks for guests to enjoy.

Corkage is charged at £12.50 per 75cl bottle of still wine and £25 per bottle of sparkling wine, with spirits generally not permitted or subject to a significantly higher charge by prior agreement. All corkage arrangements must be agreed in advance and are clearly set out in contracts.
